This work, Prime Acque (“First Waters”), was created during an artist residency at Lareaurbana in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, Italy, in April 2025, and was presented as video installation in a solo exhibition of the same name.
The starting point was a return to the places of my childhood: the sea, its gestures, its inhabitants, its myths. The animated digital drawing here is not illustration but a process of thought, a fleeting yet meaningful approach to inner landscapes.
After almost ten years in Germany, I now look at my homeland with a shifted gaze, between familiarity and estrangement.
